I’ll try to be a perfect developer….
i read about Adam’s blog
http://www.adam-bien.com/roller/page/abien?entry=a_perfect_developer_should
A month to the new year, time to make a developer’s new year resolution isn’t it..esp since i’ve just joined a new company.
Let’s see..
- I’ll continue polishing up my agile development methodologies.
- Share and absorb working experiences with my new team.
- Continue reading daily java blogs from javablogs.com, which i subscibed to.
- Need to clear the sin of not developing in Linux and Unix.
- Try to pick up some designing skills from our designer http://joshmatt.deviantart.com/
- Try to learn about the fact knowing all the web frameworks in the world is not very smart.
- Pick up more java tips and use more excellent open source libs.
- Accept the fact the there will always be someone more ‘perfect’ than you as a developer. Chinese saying that “There will always a mountain higher than another”. And i thought Mt Everest is the highest? -.-
- Try to be………nope…not the perfect developer…but a better one in the new year =D
A Sun Certified Programmer in a job interview
So you thought being a Sun Certified Programmer would let you breeze through technical interviews with companies looking for java programmers/developers?
Not really the case with me. I’ve had to sit through 1 hr technical exams ranging from written ones to multiple choiced one (90 questions to be exact), even though i had that paper.
Yesterday, i had scheduled 5 interviews, 4 of which required a technical exam, which meant for that day i spent about 3-4hrs doin exam papers..cool eh.
To be honest, give me a practical exam anytime. i rather churn out code on the machine than a written test.
I do hope the certificate has more value in Singapore to be frank. Not too sure how is the certificate doing in other countries.
